Key Features
- A practical and popular method of joining constructional timber is to use screwed connections with threaded bars, washers and nuts. This often involves countersinking the timber so that the bar and the nut are at least flush with the surface of the wood. A carpenter will typically use an auger drill bit to drill a through-hole into the wooden beam matching the threaded bar. He follows this with counterboring the timber to accommodate the washer and the nut. This is a two-step operation. FAMAG’s shell drill counterbores make life a lot easier: simply slide the counterbore on the shaft of the auger drill bit, tighten the grub screw, then drill and counterbore in one easy operation.
- These shell drill counterbores feature the new Bormax 2.0 geometry. Both the offset chip breaker grooves and the cooling fins on the spur cutters help to reduce the feed forces substantially. Friction is minimized resulting in reduced heat generation. These shell drill counterbores fit all series 1410 FAMAG auger drill bits with 13 mm shaft diameter, ie, from a 14 mm drill bit diameter upwards.
- All drill bits regardless of their diameter have a length of 30 mm.
- Famag Series 1411, supplied without drill bits!
